  8. Note: You _MUST_ at least read the "Legal Stuff" node in the .guide file.
  9. If you don't have AmigaGuide, then load a text reader and search for the
  10. string "node legal" and read on from there up to the "@endnode" command.
  11. You must do this before you use MegaView!!!

  13. For those how cannot wait or don't want to read the docfile, a few words
  14. for a quick start:
  15.  
  16. MegaView is a frontend to all kinds of viewer programs. It uses whatis.library
  17. to determine the file's type, then uses a file in s: to perform an action on
  18. this file depending on its type (the action usually is to simply show the 
  19. file). To use MegaView from CLI, simply type MegaView <file> where <file> is
  20. a filename or complete path to the file you want to process. To use from
  21. Workbench, shift-select MegaView together with the file(s) you want to show 
  22. and select Open from the Icon menu, or double click the last icon you select.
  23. MegaView has some additional possibilities, for information about these,
  24. please read the file "MegaView.guide".

  26. The DocFile is in AmigaGuide® format. You can (almost) read it with a text
  27. reader like more, but it looks better with AmigaGuide. In general, AmigaGuide
  28. is a great package, and if you don't have it, you should try to get it. It is
  29. still copyrighted by Commodore, but it may now be freely copied as a complete
  30. archive (please don't ask me to do this, though). There are also some PD Hyper-
  31. text readers; one I know for certain is called "Hyper" and should be available
  32. on fish disks or on AmiNet servers.

  34. For legal status of this distribution, look in the "Legal Stuff" directory
  35. in the MegaView.guide file.

  37. Whatis.library, which is now also included in this archive, is copyrighted by
  38. Sylvain Rougier and Pierre Carette. It is, however, freely distributable. 
  39. Please note that the whatis.library was not included in the original archive.
